The Crown Assets Distribution Centres (CADC)

The Crown Assets Distribution Centres (CADC), within Public Works and Government Services Canada, dispose of all moveable Canadian federal government surplus items and equipment through eight regional Crown Assets Distribution Centres (CADCs) across Canada by various means including tender, public, vehicle and cash and carry sales, and auctions.

Crown Assets Distribution Centres also act as agents for the United States, British and other governments in the sale of their surplus assets located in Canada. CADCs also have working arrangements with certain European governments for disposal of Canadian military surplus located in their countries.

Public Works and Government Services Canada

Public Works and Government Services Canada offers surplus federal real estate for sale. The properties are currently available for sale to the general public.

The Directory of Federal Real Property is the central record and only complete listing of real property holdings of the Government of Canada. It is administered by the Real Property Management Division of the Treasury Board Secretariat.

The purpose of the Directory is to maintain a contemporary record of basic information concerning the real property holdings of the Government of Canada. Although all Crown lands in Canada are owned by Her Majesty, the administration of these lands is assigned to departments, agencies, and Crown corporations to support the delivery of government programs. These organizations are commonly referred to as custodians.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT)

The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) provides information on surplus properties for sale overseas.

Canada Lands Company

Canada Lands Company is a Crown Corporation which has been established to manage and create value from certain federal properties on behalf of the Government of Canada. As part of Canada Lands' mandate, it provides prime investment property opportunities through the sale, improvement or development of surplus federal properties.
